About

Hi, I’m Carole, I live in Montpellier, in the South of France and I’m a freelance translator, which means I translate texts from English to French for big companies like Google, Net-A-Porter, Billabong, Element, Apple, Red Hat, Dell, Amazon, AI documentary subtitles, the Secretary of the Antarctic Treaty and even the UN.
I have twin daughters, both 9-years old (they’re fraternal twins), my pride and joy.

I lived in the UK and in Australia for a few years, which is why I feel kind of Frenglish. I practised ballet/modern jazz/contemporary dance for over 10 years, as well as boxing,  yoga, shooting, canyoning, inline skating, swimming (in the Mediterranean Sea with flippers, I hate swimming pools) and many other sports.
I was a Software Engineer in another life before I became a translator.

I’m passionate about snails (don’t ask me why, I don’t have a clue, I just find them cute I guess), cats, turtles and all kinds of animals, as well as nature and my life is filled with my daughter’s laughter, drawings and songs, gardening, singing, playing music, cooking, knitting, sewing, painting, drawing, reading and most of all writing. Anything creative, really…

After spending a few years on a blog about maternity (and sometimes fashion), I decided to create a new blog, in order to share everything I’m passionate about. Why name this blog Mafalda 2.0? Because it’s always been my pseudo on the Internet and because Mafalda has always been my favourite cartoon character. Why 2.0? Because this is my second blog.
Why create a blog about fashion and creative stuff? Because I wanted to show women my age, whether they have kids or not, whether they work long hours or not, that it’s possible to look after yourself and look trendy, find your style, even when you don’t have much time on your hands and be a woman, not just a working mum.

I hope you like it, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and pay me a visit!
